According to lyrics, Boy likes girl and girl likes boy, but her friends swayed her decision to not get with him. 5 years later she’s a single mother leading a very boring life then finds out the boy is now a rock star and tries to get with him but unfortunately for her he found true love. (I can relate to this)

Here’s my theory: the narrator IS the girl but she actually did get with him despite what her friends thought and changed her style. The baby didn’t really exist, that’s how she envisioned herself had she listened to her so-called “friends”.

Moral of the story: make your own decisions. After all if your friends told you to jump off the Golden Gate Bridge, would you?
