his god parents are his dads best friends and have been for a really long time. they both got married and then divorced to their respective partners, helping eachother though both heartbrakes. one night, his mom had a birthday party, everyone got really drunk, and then on the subway ride home, his god father proposed to his godmother. after 40 years of being best friends they realized they loved eachother. he wrote this song for their wedding.
