Elton John - Honky Cat Lyrics Meaning

Honky Cat is a straightforward account of being a young man torn between fame and fortune (the city) and a simpler life (Bernie Taupin was from a farming background, hence "boy you gotta tend the farm, living in the city, boy it's gonna break your heart"). It's interesting that it appears on the same album as Rocket Man, which addresses similar subject material by way of allegory to the loneliness of fame.
