Soundgarden - My Wave Lyrics Meaning

I think this song represents that Chris is tired of people - haters, who he doesn't like always showing him how they badmouth him or openly mock the things he likes. He desperately cries to keep it off his wave. He doesn't care what they do, as long as they just leave him him be. This can be interpreted as one of the highest spiritual levels of Buddhism - not being affected by anything from the oughter. Sort of like a burnout! :D
