Bush dedicated nearly 24 years of his life to serving on the Lacey City Council, leaving a lasting impact on our city. On December 21, he peacefully departed this life at the Lacey retirement community Panorama, at the age of ninety-nine.

From July 1973 until 1997, he tirelessly worked to represent the interests of our community. His leadership and dedication to the betterment of Lacey have left an indelible mark on our city’s history.

Contributions to Parks and Recreation

Bush’s unwavering support for parks and leisure activities has greatly enriched the lives of Lacey residents. In recognition of his lifelong passion, the city honored him in 2005 by naming William A. Bush Park after him. This beautiful 10-acre park, located at 4400 Chardonnay Drive SE, has become a cherished gathering place for our community. Complete with a picnic shelter, play structures, and an open play area, it serves as a testament to Bush’s commitment to creating spaces for recreation and enjoyment.
