The song is basically telling the story of how two people with pasts have found each other. The singer, 'guy perspective' starts by saying this is how we found each other. The last verse is singing about their wedding day. He's telling her it's okay for us to start our lives over with each other, grow old and be with other for the rest of our lives. The middle verse speaks to their pasts and 'baggage'. But, this is addressed with an 'it is what it is' line. I would imagine if I guy was getting married for the second time and found the right woman, he could sing this song, play it on the guitar, and it would really capture the moment, relationship and the day.
