The great thing about this song is it can apply to any type of situation, whether its a friend that died, or a mother or a daughter or a sister or girlfriend. Its all about losing someone you love and the grief experience.

I remember when I first knew this song existed, I was at a concert with my best friend and a bunch of other people from my church. I'd never really heard of Skillet before but it sounded fun so I went. Me and my friend went out during a change break after The Letter Black was done(there were 3 other bands performing before Skillet went on) and bought some cds from the vendors there. Ashley (my best friend) got the Awake cd and I grabbed the insert book with they lyrics and when I got to the end I saw the lyrics and my heart stopped
"Hey Lucy I remember your name. I left a dozen roses on your grave today"
When I was little my best friend/blood sister was killed by her father. Her name was Lucyanna, and only me and her brother were allowed to call her Lucy

This song is so personal to me, and expresses my feelings about Lucy's death perfectly. It was always my fault she died and there are days when I really can't live with the choices I made that resulted in her death, and not a minute goes by when I don't wish that she was still here and we could be kids some more. I will always remember
